Food Words: - Kakae — Food / To eat (this word does double duty!) - Raes — Rice (staple food) - Fis — Fish - Kokonas — Coconut (very important in Vanuatu!) - Bred — Bread - Frut — Fruit - Mit — Meat - Taro — Taro (traditional root vegetable) - Yam — Yam (another staple) - Simiken — Chicken

Drink Words: - Wota — Water - Ti — Tea - Kofi — Coffee - Kava — Kava (traditional drink) - Jus — Juice

Useful Phrases: - Mi hangre — I'm hungry - Mi tosti — I'm thirsty - Kakae i redi — Food is ready - Kakae i gud tumas! — The food is very good!
